REVER is an app about other riders. Roveri is an app about your own season. REVER’s free tier opens onto a shared world: thousands of road trip maps to uncover, communities you can create or join, challenges, and friends moving on a live map. Roveri has exactly one rider in it — you — and one job, which is keeping the rides you actually take.
So the real question isn’t planner versus journal. It’s whether the app you open shows you where other people have been, or where you have been.

Twenty rides is a list. Roveri makes it a year: your records, the climate you rode in, and the weather on each individual day you went out.

SHOWING IT
Publish a road, or show a ride.
Two different things. REVER's sharing puts a route into the world so somebody else can go ride it. Roveri's puts one ride of yours into an image — and the ride is the point, not the road.

Pick REVER if you ride with other people
REVER wins on two things, and both are about other riders. It publishes a large library of road trip maps you can uncover and follow, and its free tier carries the social layer outright — communities you can create or join, challenges, rider news, friends visible on a live map. Its PRO tier then adds turn-by-turn directions, offline maps and live location sharing (rever.co/pro, checked 31 July 2026).
If riding with people — or riding roads other people found — is the point of the app for you, REVER is the better tool, and Roveri isn’t trying to be it. Roveri does not plan routes and does not navigate. It answers the question you ask in December, not the one you ask on Friday night.
Common questions
Is there an alternative to the REVER app?
It depends what you use it for. For shared routes, communities and navigation, REVER is its own category — there is no like-for-like swap. If what you actually want is a record of the rides you take, Roveri keeps each one: route, speed, elevation and the weather you rode through, on iPhone.
Does REVER charge for turn-by-turn directions?
As of 31 July 2026, REVER lists Turn-by-Turn Directions among its PRO features, and its free tier follows a route line instead. GPX import is free on REVER; GPX export is PRO. Roveri does not navigate at all — it records the line you rode.
What are apps like REVER good at?
